The story of Passport to the Nations began long before Passport existed. In fact, it began even before I was born.

Summer is a wonderful time to help children discover the stories of courageous believers who carried the Gospel around the world. Missionary biographies introduce kids to faith, perseverance, compassion, sacrifice, and the joy of sharing Christ across cultures.

Passport was born in the local church out of a deep desire to find missions material that is contemporary, comprehensive, and Christ-centered. We longed for resources that would help kids see God’s heart for the whole world — content that would take them continent by continent, exploring every inhabited region over a multi-year journey. What we found instead were fragmented resources: outdated visuals, shallow geography lessons, and materials that felt like they were written for a past generation.

At Passport to the Nations, we believe kids can develop a heart for the nations—one country at a time.  That’s why we created the Passport Postcard, a colorful, ready-to-use digital resource that helps  children see the nations, learn about the people, and pray for God’s work around the world—all in  about 10–15 minutes a week. 

Praying is part of our mission to ground kids in the Gospel and equip them to go to the nations in love. Prayer opens their eyes to the breadth of God’s world, shaping their hearts to care deeply for people they may never meet. It teaches them that the Great Commission is not just for “someday missionaries,” but a call for every believer—young or old—to participate in God’s work among the nations right now.

Although my parents are American, I was born in Mexico and spent the majority of my first decade of childhood in Central America. This experience became a powerful, shaping influence in my life. As a matter of fact, it is probably the foundation for the last decade of my life.
